Buying Info

Why yes, we do buy “stuff”. But we’re kinda picky. If it’s smelly, moldy, cat-peed-on-it kinda stuff, why, no, we don’t want it nor will we buy it. If it’s clean, quality, and in demand (and we don’t have too many copies), we’re interested. Here’s a rundown of what we’re looking for.

LPs/Records/Albums – Must be nice copies (no big coffee stains, no odors (this includes cigarettes), virtually scratch-free; and have the original jacket. We’re always on the prowl for classic jazz from the ’50s and ’60s (think John Coltrane – don’t think Herb Albert); classic soul from the ’60s, classic rock pre 1975 or so. If you have classical music, soundtracks, easy listening, pop – we’ll take a look at ‘em, but probably won’t be buying them.

45′s/78′s – we’ll take a look – but we’re REALLY picky. Must be clean and in demand. Stuff we’re looking for particularly is old Dayton funk – Roger, Zapp, all that. Other stuff we’d like to see is blues, punk (especially indie label) ’60s rock, ’50s doo wop and soul. On 78′s we’re looking for early rock, jazz (again – think Coltrane – not pop/swing/big band), classic country, spoken word.

CDs – Clean, no scratches, all original liner notes. We can replace the jewel case, but will offer less. Classic rock, r&b, new jazz lead the pack here of most-wanted.

DVDs – clean, original case, no scratches.

Games & game systems  – Systems must be in working condition. Games should be in original case with covers preferably clean with no scratches, we can clean some surface wear and light scratches but you will be offered less for these items.

  1. I have 50+ lp record albums from the late 50s to the early 60s. There are a lot ot Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many of these types of music titles. I would be interested in knowing if your store is in the market for these types of record selections. Please let me know if you’d be interested.
    Thanks
