Shortly after delivering their breakthrough album Nonagon Infinity, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard hit San Francisco's The Independent for a wildly frenetic and meticulously executed set. One of their final club gigs, the Melbourne septet gave a breakneck performance that "made every organ ache just right" (SF Weekly). Live in San Francisco '16 captures an extraordinary moment in their history, a spectacular likely to leave you awestruck and adrenalized. Random Colorway 2LP via ATO Records.

2020 holiday release. Building upon last year's EP of the same name, the 13-song set delivers freshly recorded originals - including "Christmas in April," perhaps the first COVID-inspired holiday song, which Andrew wrote during lockdown plus holiday classics and wintertime reimaginings of seasonally ambiguous deep cuts by John Cale, John Prine and Handsome Family. For the first time since 2002's Ballad of the Red Shoes, Andrew Bird collaborated on the album artwork with his mother, who was also the inspiration for Hark!'s exquisite, solo violin arrangement of "Mille Cherubini in Coro" - her favorite piece from the Pavarotti and Vienna Boys Choir performance she and Andrew would always listen to when he was a child.
Recorded October 16, 2019, Tanya Tucker Live From The Troubadour features a cache of her #1 hits, like Tucker's smash first single "Delta Dawn" plus "Strong Enough To Bend," "What's Your Mama's Name," and "Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)". With sublime medley of Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" & Cash's "Ring of Fire" and tracks from GRAMMY-winning Country Album Of The Year, While I'm Livin', like "Mustang Ridge," "The Wheels of Laredo," "Hard Luck," and poignant title track. Vinyl LP pressing. Blue Note Tone Poet Series. One Art Blakey's greatest albums with the Jazz Messengers, Roots & Herbs, is little known. In 1961, the group featured Lee Morgan (trumpet), Wayne Shorter (tenor sax), Bobby Timmons (piano) and Jymie Merrit (bass). Recorded in Rudy Van Gelder's New Jersey studio, it's a brilliant set of six Shorter compositions, like the playful "Ping Pong" and the clever "United." It's among Blakey's finest.

Recorded live in RCA's Studio B in Nashville over the course of an epic five day/night run in June 1970 (with an additional session on September 22), Elvis' performances from those sessions formed the core of three of his most successful studio album releases from the 1970s: Elvis: That's the Way It Is, Elvis Country (I'm 10,000 Years Old) and Love Letters from Elvis.
Now, for the first time, the master recordings from the 1970 Studio B sessions may be enjoyed together as a single official Elvis album. On From Elvis In Nashville, Presley's studio tracks from the 1970 marathon sessions are presented in pristine audio, newly mixed by acclaimed engineer Matt Ross-Spring (John Prine, Jason Isbell) without the added overdubs or orchestration appearing on earlier releases.
Experience Hendrix announces a brand new collection that couples the new feature length documentary Music, Money, Madness . . . Jimi Hendrix In Maui with the accompanying live performances on both audio and video. Wu Hen is the sophomore album from Peckham visionary Kamaal Williams -- an invitation to elevate to a higher state. Cinematic strings from Miguel-Atwood Ferguson and virtuoso saxophone from Quinn Mason are textural additions that make for a deeper, multi-layered experience than previous releases. Bringing groove back to the forefront, Wu Hen oscillates between celestial jazz, funk, rap and r&b reinforced with the rugged beat-heavy attitude of grime, jungle, house and garage a self-styled fusion Kamaal describes as Wu Funk. New players on this record include LA s Greg Paul on drums (of Kalayst Collective), Rick Leon James on bass, Quinn Mason on saxophone alongside vocal features from cult rapper Mach-Hommy and Kaytranada collaborator Lauren Faith. Multi-talented renaissance musician Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (who has worked with Ray Charles, Flying Lotus, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Seu Jorge) contributes signature strings, which add vivid colour and rich depth, evoking vintage David Axelrod.
Limited green and orange colored vinyl LP pressing. John Hiatt's Crossing Muddy Waters was released in 2000. In 2012 New West acquired the rights to this album and re-released this album on compact disc. Now, 20 years after it's original release, Crossing Muddy Waters is being released on stand alone vinyl for the first time
Limited blue and red colored vinyl LP pressing. John Hiatt recorded 'Master Of Disaster' with the North Mississippi All Stars as his backing band. With the title track, he addresses the artist's midlife crisis and finds creative renewal in the process, a theme revisited in the country balladry of "Old School." There's a ragtime spirit to 'Wintertime Blues' and 'Back on the Corner', the insistence of a tom-tom's thump on 'Love's Not Where We Thought We Left It' and 'Find You At Last', a slide guitar that slices and dices through 'Ain't Ever Goin' Back'.
Limited split green and white vinyl LP pressing. John Hiatt's, The Tiki Bar Is Open was released in 2001. In 2012 New West acquired the rights to this album and re-released this album on compact disc. Now, nearly 20 years after it's original release, The Tiki Bar Is Open is being released on stand alone vinyl for the first time.
Limited clear and gray colored vinyl LP pressing. Much to his credit, John Hiatt has never strayed very far from the bluesy garage rock roots of his Indiana childhood. That fact is raucously underscored here, a gritty collection that finds the veteran singer/songwriter co-crediting his longtime band, the Goners (guitarist Sonny Landreth, bassist Dave Ranson and Kenneth Blevins on drums) for the first time-and for good reason. Recorded live in the studio, Hiatt and the Goners evoke everything from chugging Sun Records' shuffles to swampy Delta blues, early Ry Cooder and the Band, all of it informed by the almost telepathic sense of interplay these musicians have developed over decades of touring. This is easily the most overtly rocking album of Hiatt's career, but one that hasn't sacrificed an ounce of soul for it's joyous energy.
Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. New West Records is proud to present Black Snake Moan on color vinyl for the first time. A darkly modern tale of love, betrayal, sex, and salvation set in the Deep South: such is Craig Brewer's Black Snake Moan, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Ricci, Justin Timberlake and E-40. The film is the 2nd feature by Writer-Director Craig Brewer, whose 1st film HUSTLE & FLOW won an Academy Award for Best Song as well as the 2005 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award. As Hustle & Flow depicted the underground world of Dirty South rap, Black Snake Moan, which was filmed in Memphis, Tennessee and surrounding environs, employs as a setting the contemporary North Mississippi hill country music scene, revealing it's sound through purveyors like the North Mississippi Allstars, R.L. Burnside, and Jessie Mae Hemphill.
