Dementia Precox is legendary. Uncontested, they stood as the first industrial band playing concerts in Dayton, Ohio- opening for the Ramones twice alongside other legendary shows in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. Robert Pollard named them alongside Toxic Reasons as the two key bands of the Dayton, Ohio scene before starting Guided by Voices. Fronted by Gyn Cameron, an early adopter of the cut up sound technique in DIY punk music, he would find the Oberheim Matrix 12 in ’86 and with the help of guitar player Eric Purtle, percussionist Royse Robbins alongside producer Gary King would set the stage for their sophomore gothic-industrial masterwork Huh? Half delicate & synthetic pop songwriting, half neurotic guitar attacking EBM bangers. Being DIY pioneers in the pre-CD era, they would end up only self-releasing it on dubbed cassettes- antithetical to the dense and layered production choices made on this album. After a successful recovery effort by Darren Callahan & Blaize Barton to restore the master tapes in 2018, Floorjazz is proud to finally release this on the vinyl 12" format. Omega Music is the only place where you can pick up the only colored variant of this LP, on unique ink swirl vinyl, with a cut of proceeds benefiting Dayton's own Equitas Center

Kelley Deal met Mike Montgomery at Candyland, his Dayton, KY Studio, where she was recording a contribution for a Guided by Voices tribute album. It was the beginning of the friendship that would become R. Ring. Shortly after their work together at Candyland, Montgomery was asked to open a show for a band he was recording, and not wanting to play solo, recruited Deal to join him on stage. That show ended up sparking an LP, splits with Protomartyr, Vacation and Quailbones, and many more live shows. Now Reunited at Candyland for their second LP, titled War Poems, We Rested, R. Ring is expanding on their creative process. For this release many of the songs were written with the support of drummer Laura King (Bat Fangs, Mac McCaughan, Speed Stick), allowing the group to explore fuller arrangements from the start. On their previous release, 2017's Ignite the Rest, Deal and Montgomery had written with the consideration that they would eventually play the songs as a duo. Now, at a time when playing live is no longer a given, the band is freeing themselves up to create without those constraints. The result is a record that's equal parts driving and haunting, with noisy soundscapes bubbling over across tight and aggressive drumming. The ominous vocals and glockenspiel of opener "Still Life" hover above to the rhythm section, bringing the record in with a gothic shuffle.

A musician whose influences span hard rock, psych, garage rock, and energetic pop, Andrew Gabbard has long been a force on the Southwestern Ohio music scene. Working with Thee Shams, The Buffalo Killers, and currently as The Gabbard Brothers with his brother Zach, Andrew is truly a prolific artist covering a wide range. The Buffalo Killers caught the attention of Dan Auerbach who produced their debut LP and Andrew is currently part of the touring band for The Black Keys. Now joining forces with another Ohio establishment, Colemine Records, Andrew hopes to hone his sound and grow his reach. His first LP as Andrew Gabbard is Homemade, a mix of hazy pop infused with alt-country vibes that feels part Neil Young, part Wilco, and part Flaming Lips all at the same time.
