Pre-Order: Josef Schelb: Capriccio Hornkonzert Trauermusik - Oliver Triendl [CD]

The programme of this CD comprises four works by Josef Schelb that - in the case of the Capriccio and the Horn Concerto - have not been issued on recording media in any form, or only - the Wind Concerto and his Trauermusik - in the form of old historic recordings. They were written during what might be called Schelb's middle period, the ten years between 1948 and 1958; Horn and Wind Concertos were both composed in the year 1953. During that post-war decade, Schelb was composing flat out, unsurprisingly given that he had to make good the distressing losses of earlier works and limits on activity caused by two world wars and the intervening periods of recession in Germany.
