American Yuletide Gems - On This Christmas Eve - Andrews Sisters [CD]

As America celebrates it's 250th anniversary, Jasmine Records presents a dynamic set of 30 Christmas songs by one of America's greatest entertainment acts! During The War Years, The Andrews Sisters travelled to many parts of the world to entertain troops... and tirelessly visited the wounded in hospitals. Their holiday output - Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Ride, Jingle Bells, Merry Christmas Polka, Christmas Island, Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, Mele Kalikimaka and many more - sold millions! Also included are six tracks (including White Christmas) from their radio show, debuting here. Several songs include collaborations with Bing Crosby, Dick Haymes, Danny Kaye, Curt Massey, Guy Lombardo, and Jerry Gray. Detailed liner notes related to the songs and recordings are offered by Andrews Sisters biographer John Sforza. A rare letter of appreciation written by The Andrews Sisters themselves to disc jockeys in 1950 is part of the set which comprises, for the very first time, ALL of their known Christmas output
